OCI INITIAL DISCOVERY ANALYSIS
WE MEASURE TO ENABLE KNOWLEDGE, ENCOURAGE ACTION AND ACHIEVE RESULTS
OCI’s Initial Discovery Analysis is a mutual discovery process in which OCI and the client work together to review the client’s data at a broad and high level. It aims to obtain an overall “picture” of the client’s healthcare, disability, and workers’ compensation/P&C benefit position, by summary assessment of each of the five areas of investigation:
-
Population Health & Behavior
-
Workers’ Compensation Duration & Performance
-
Financial Overview
-
Vendor Comparison
-
Disability Duration & Performance
OCI’s standard discovery analysis evaluates over 20 performance indicators to provide an overall, macro-level view of the information, while looking for the top three to five watch areas that show the most opportunity for improvement. These proprietary indicators are selected based on the data types available in the integrated database.
In addition to the OCI performance indicators, OCI fulfills ad hoc requests from the customer during this same timeframe to answer customer-specific questions.
THE DISCOVERY PROCESS IS ITERATIVE AND INTERACTIVE
Early answers and increased knowledge lead to new questions and further investigation. As each new avenue opens up the team assesses the depth of the investigation required to answer the questions and determines whether to push it to a more in-depth analytic project or to include it in this discovery phase. Those issues that require more than monitoring are passed into a second round of investigation.
Identification of the greatest opportunities creates a logical close to this initial discovery phase and the team moves into implementation of the ongoing measurement and monitoring toolset. Discovery continues in a parallel path to facilitate continuous knowledge improvement and subsequently a broader reporting toolset.
